Nabe One Japanese Cafe
こんにちは (Konnichiwa)
I'm back with yet another food critic review again HAHA wanting to share with you all :)
Today I wanted to share with you guys a little Japanese cafe at the newly opened Melbourne Emporium!
For those who live in Melbourne, may want to try out Japanese food, check this place out.
The cafe is called 'Nabe One Japanese Cafe' as mentioned in post title, its a what you would call Izakaya.
* I have been here before, just to tell you guys know
The venue gives a cute modern feel to the cozy cafe, unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the venue :( sorry guys!
We were seated for a table of two and the menu was like a self-serve menu? I don't know what you call it but you are given a menu along with an ordering list so you basically write your order number (numbers are given in the menu) on the ordering list with however many quantity you want of it so in short terms - You get to do your own orders without having to call for assistance to get your order.
LOL I took a photo of the menu cover but forgot to take photos of the menu itself!
They offer entrees such as tofu, dumplings, octopus balls that's what I can think of. For their dishes they have rice, ramen, odon, obento sets and sashimi/sushi sets and the prices are affordable around ~ $10-$15 a dish depending on what you order.
So we order an obento set and 2 side dishes of slice sashimi. The sashimi came with 3 pieces of sliced salmon so one wasn't enough that was why we ordered two! PS. Eating raw salmon is good for your health for those you think it has a fish smell, it doesn't! Give it a try if you haven't :)
The sashimi dishes came out first.
Presentation wise: It looks good! So nothing bad here
Taste: Good, sashimi is not too thin or thick so just right! The pickled pink radish is good with soy sauce and wasabi!
おいしい (delicious)
Price: 3 slices per dish $3.50
Ordered 2 dish $7.50 together
Our obento set came out.
The obento came with rice, crab salad, dumplings, prawn fried balls skewer and chicken curry (curry optional: beef, chicken or pork)
The set was shared between two people.
Price: $12.50 of obento box
Taste: Freshly handmade dumplings (good), chicken curry (abit sweet for me), crab salad (good), prawn fried skewer (good)
Overall, it was tasty and came out HOT
Nabe One cafe was delicious that is why we came back for seconds HAHA but overall service was average waited 5-10 mins for obento box so not bad.
Total bill: $19.50 not filling but keep your stomach from hunger
