EAT8BIT
Hi fellow readers!
How are we all? I know I'm SUPER EXCITED that exams are finally over and now I can just relax write more posts for you guys :)
For those who are still currently in the midst of your exams, GOODLUCK~
Today as a celebration of finishing all my exams, I wanted to reward myself eating out at a new place which recently opened in Footscray, called 'EAT8BIT'. Eat8bit is a chilled, gaming theme concept which sell burgers, hotdogs, shakesss, fries and desserts (I think)
I've read blogs, posts online about this place, seen photos and through people raving about this new place and today I can personally share with you on my thoughts of this place.
My friend and I decided to go out and try this place after our exam around 5:40pm. Surprisingly when we got to the venue, it was not pack.
Menu was on a BIG giant timber board with the list of food and pricing however, it was quite difficult for me to read because the writing was small, no lighting shone on board (ps. I also wear glasses or maybe I need to get my eyes checked again HAHA) or small menus to bring to the table so we had to order on the spot.
I ordered a mushroom burger ($9.50) and my friend ordered their famous '8bit burger' ($8.50) with chilli cheese fries side ($7.50)
Service was a 5-10 minute wait. Fries came out first, looking at the price for what we paid for, we assumed it would be a reasonable amount however it was quite small. Here is the photo below of our chilli cheese fries.
See what I mean? It's a small proportion or is it just me?
The toppings on the fries: mince beef with some mayo sauce and chopped jalapeno. Also the fries were VERY oily and not crispy at all which is abit of a disappointment because I love my fries to be crisp and crunchy!
Moving onto our burgers, my mushroom burger arrived first, instantly looking at the burger my jaw just dropped! HAHA I don't know if it was a good or a bad way. I thought when ordering the burger it was have meat in it BUT NO MEAT AT ALL! I love my meat!!! It was a price of sliced mushroom which have been deep-fried :O
It looks appetising but not delicious sadly :( and the fact it had no meat in it as well was not worth its pricing. What do you guys think?
My friend's burger came out '8bit burger'. LOL I feel like we are very picky eaters haha but the beef patty for this burger was salty! Unfortunately, she didn't finish her burger.
Overall, this eating experience at 'EAT8BIT' was quite disappointing in my opinion. The price for the my mushroom burger was quite pricey ($9.50) for not having meat in it whereas my friend did and her one was $8.50. Service was not great either, the girl serving us gave us our change wrong (being an accountant student LOL) was unable to calculate the difference of $20.50 - $7.5 not saying anything but give customer their right change. Food was either too salty or oily for me. But it was a first time experience and wanted to know the reason people were raving about it.
Will I go there next time in future?
Honestly, no. I would prefer Grill'd over this.
