FOOD REVIEW:HAKATA GENSUKE on Russell Street

Hi, I'm back!!! ☺☺☺
With another food review as mentioned in the title above. I'll keep it short and simple (not really). Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of my ramen 😒 because I was too busy pigging eating away to take a photo for you all but I did manage to get a snapshot of mums ramen. Btw, I have been here before many times meaning its good hehehe

Anyways, let's get this review started!!!

Located on Russell Street in Melbourne CBD, is a small little, cosy ramen eatery (not hard to miss due to the LONG LINES of people queuing).
I went on a Tuesday evening approx. 7pm, boy was the line long T.T We (three people) waited for at least a good 30 mins outside the eatery with menus given to us before we were seated inside (assuming convenience for the staff). NOTE: if you are planning to come in groups of four or more, you are most likely to wait much longer if your wanting to sit together! My advice is to come individually, pairs or in threes for future visits.

Finally we were seated inside, you will expect to be greeted politely in Japanese by Japanese natives with a Welcoming to their store (Irasshaimase γ„らっしゃいませ). As we were waiting outside, menus were given whilst we wait.

HAKATA GENSUKE MENU

The menu itself is very self-explanatory. I did not manage to take photos of the four ramen Hakata offers but you can google it yourself!
We ordered two ramen bowls; Signature Tonkotsu ($13), Shio Tonkotsu ($13) with a flavoured egg ($2) in one and for a side for ordered Chicken Karaage (fried chicken) ($5 for three pieces).

Shio Tonkotsu
The ramen broth are boiled with pork cooked/boiled for over eight hours I believe for the delicious taste of the broth to be flavoursome and creamy in the stock not meaning consistency if that makes any sense.

I had the Signature Tonkotsu, the broth or soup was saltier than the Shio Tonkotsu. I could not finish the soup but finished all the ramen and the thinly sliced pork given. They had condiments to add into your ramen if you wanted something spicy but not DARING enough like myself to try the God Fire, there are dried chilli flake green leaf looking vegetable??? which you can add into that I did and makes the soup spicy. If you like spicy in your food then I would recommend adding that in πŸ‘ red ginger was also an option as well to add in ramen.

The chicken karaage was good however oily but totally recommend if you like fried chicken. The chicken has no skin, is fried with a crunchy texture and succulent inside omg yummm now I'm craving for fried chicken πŸ˜‹ on the plate had salt which was suppose for dipping the fried chicken in and OMG πŸ‘Œ enough said! A MUST TRY IF YOU VISIT THE RAMEN EATERY! Will not disappoint.

Overall, everything was good! Food and service excellent! I have been here many times and always enjoy the ramen they have! Good for a quick dinner before going out on the weekends or for coming home from work  and want to enjoy delicious ramen!!! πŸ™Œ
Total bill came to $33 across three people sharing is good. I would say its filling however if you have a bigger appetite than I do maybe not so filling but generally speaking the portion are for one.
