SKINCARE REVIEW: SHISEIDO IBUKI

| SOURCE: google images - shiseido europe |
*disclaimer: this is based on my opinion what works for MY skin! (not sponsored, I purchased this with my blood, sweat and tears --> money that I practically earned)
I have somewhat used up most of the products therefore I'll give you my honest opinion
Keep up to date with me on my snapchat @ jennycapulet :) can't wait to snap with you! haha
My Skin History:
I am a dry (and am an extremely dry during the winter), somewhat quite sensitive (redness, itchy and stings) and sometime acne-prone (depending on my skin if it behaves well)
I won't go into much detail of the brand and line itself! To keep it short and simple;
IBUKI - what is it?
- Anti-aging line for women in their MID 20'S TO LATE 30'S (btw I am early 20's)
- It provides HYDRATION for dry skin, "ELIMINATES OILINESS, BREAKOUTS, ROUGHNESS AND VISIBLE SIGNS OF FATIGUE and PREVENTS DAMAGES AGAINST SKIN" - shiseido-europe.com
I purchased from Myer (links below via myer website):
- Ibuki Gentle Cleanser ($59 AUD)
- Ibuki Softening Concentrate ($65 AUD)
- Ibuki Refining Moisturiser Enriched ($78 AUD)
- IBUKI GENTLE CLEANSER
Thoughts and Verdict: Oooo, I ENJOYED THIS PRODUCT! My skin did not react to the cleanser which I'm so happy about! It cleanses well, removing dead skin with its rich foam, leaving my face so clean and crisp!!! It may feel a little drying after wash but I quickly spray a mist before applying moisturiser. I have finished my first tube and recently purchased my second tube. I really enjoyed it! As the name suggest of the cleanser, it is gentle on my skin. The smell is a clean floral scent, its ok. Although the price is $$$, this product lasts roughly six months. You know a little goes a long way for this cleanser. Just a dime size and it will lather up like crazyyyyy! Btw my mum also uses this cleanser as well, she enjoys it as much as I do. Great for product price and productivity of use.
NOTE:
NOTE:
- The cleanser is NON-COMEDOGENIC meaning it DOES NOT BLOCK PORES
- It is DERMATOLOGIST-TESTED

2. IBUKI SOFTENING CONCENTRATE
Thoughts: I was clueless what a softening concentration was???? Luckily the rep explained to me it was an in between product of a toner and an essence, leaning more towards an essence. I applied this first before the moisturiser enriched cream and after my gentle cleanser, to give my face some moisture after cleansing.
Verdict: The softening concentrate was too strong for my skin, my skin felt irritated, red and itchy :O The consistency is quite running, transparent almost like water. It leaves a sticky feeling to the face which is uncomfortable and not pleasant for me. However, it definitely leaves the skin feeling soft like the name suggests but personally I did not enjoy the product aside from the fact it leaving my face feeling soft like a baby's bottom. Was too strong for my sensitive skin. I still have half a bottle left since purchase and have not used it since.
3. IBUKI REFINING MOISTURISER ENRICHED CREAM
Unfortunately I used up all the Refining Moisturiser Enriched cream and I threw out the tub :( so I don't have any photos for the cream
Thoughts: This cream enrichment moisturiser was suppose to "work" with my skin type (advice from the shiseido rep) because it was concentrated targeting for drier skin type.
The consistency of the cream was quite thick, again it is an enrich moisturising cream.
Personally for me when applying the product, the cream feels heavy on the face, does not leave a sticky feeling when applying or after application and it has a clean floral scent idk how to describe smell sorry...
After a few months of using the product (mostly during the night) and finishing the tub (because it was $$$), I honestly did not feel like it was "hydrating" enough for my dry skin. I felt like the product sat on top of my skin rather than it absorbing and soaking in the enrichment of the cream. After continuous use forcing myself, I had breakouts on my chin area T.T
Verdict: Personally I would not use this product as it did not suit my skin.
I know it may come across harsh/bashing (but some of their other products that I have tried are AMAZING like their Gentle Cleanser :P) This is my honest opinion regarding the IBUKI line.
Overall, I hope this review has been somewhat helpful based on my own experience and sharing with you. If your considering trying or investing into the Shiseido IBUKI products, please speak to your doctor or specialist about your skin conditions if you suffering from any and clarify with the Shiseido reps if you have any concerns about the products.
If you like these kind of skincare reviews based on my opinion or if you have something your afraid to try please give me a shout out or comment below so I can be your guinea pig and test them out for you hehe :P
Until next time,
Jenny
